What interaction does Delmar DivINe have with the community of North City?

Our efforts are based out of a 7,130 sq. ft multipurpose room on the main floor of our complex. Activities are vetted by a Community Collaborative Board composed of area residents and civic leaders who advise the Board of Directors’ Programming and Racial Equity Committee.

Our signature program is The Wisdom Cafe, which provides a variety of enrichment programs to adults over the age of 50.  We have many other programs whose content is delivered by a wide range of partners.  For more information, please contact our Volunteer & Community Coordinator, Shaniqua Jones.

Outside of the multipurpose room, we are collaborating with Ameren’s Neighborhood Solar Program for the installation of a solar panel array on the campus.  While many communities of color across the nation have some of the dirtiest sources of power near their homes, we are proud to say that the West End will be home to clean, renewable energy.  Learn more here.

The Delmar DivINe Community

Building community is ultimately what Delmar Divine is all about.  This work takes two forms.

We will have a community of 33 nonprofits, all of which will have free access to over 18,000 square feet of shared space that encourages collaboration, including conference rooms, meeting spaces, a podcast studio, a fitness center, and an auditorium. Bolstered by capacity building training from Washington University and concierge services that will help with day-to-day problem solving, the agencies will be able to increase their efficiency and effectiveness.

We also serve the West End community in which Delmar Divine resides, as well as working to bring INvestment, INnovation, and INclusion to all North City. In 2023, our Community Multipurpose Room has hosted over 60 events, with almost 3,000 total guests. In addition, neighborhood groups are invited to use the space, featuring state-of-the-art information technology and high-speed internet, for their community meetings.
